Karma: The CoD legend retires Legacy to be followed!

Karma, one of the biggest names in professional Call of Duty history steps down as the Seattle Surge announced Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow’s retirement from professional CoD. It’s the end of an era, one drenched in championships, arguably one of the best players in the history has come to an end!

Most notable were his moments with OpTic Gaming, compLexity, Evil Geniuses and Impact. He got his first championship win in 2013 before winning again in 2014, becoming the first player to win back-to-back Call of Duty championships. His final championship was in 2017 being a part of a legendary OpTic Gaming dynasty featuring some of the greatest names in the history!

Things haven’t worked out for Karma and the Seattle Surge since the beginning of the Call of Duty League this season despite being touted as one of the better teams in the league heading into 2020.

His three world championships will always remain as a benchmark! Karma said, “I am entering the next chapter” in his life and gave his best wishes to the Seattle Surge. He said that he didn’t enjoy playing Modern Warfare because of the present run-and-gun meta that was introduced with the MP5 submachine gun, the most powerful weapon in the game.

With Karma’s retirement, the Seattle Surge will sub in either Enable or Proto from the sidelines to take his place, or the team will have to bring in a player from outside the organization.

But to fill someone’s shoes like Karma – not going to be an easy affair!
