EA banned FIFA competitor and streamer, Kurt0411, from playing in FIFA 20 events. EA has even banned the player from its entire portfolio of games and services. But what wrong he did?
In a statement, EA said, “Kurt Fenech (aka Kurt0411) is banned from playing our games and accessing our services due to serious and repeated violations.” Later on, reports revealed that Twitter accounts of many EA employees’ were hacked and the hacked accounts were very unlikely supporting Fenech. Supporting staves of Fifa raised a serious issue of significant personal abuse.
Fenech has been highly critical of EA on his YouTube channel and his Twitter account, which has innumerable followers, accusing the company of ‘tyranny’ and ‘bullshit’. In the past, he has been outrageous against certain aspects of the latest FIFA title, stating that, “EA has done everything this year but look at themselves and admit they fucked it. They killed their game and their ‘esport’.”
What did Kurt say on this ban?
“End of the day I have never said anything I shouldn’t have. This is just deeper than anyone thinks. They didn’t want me competing at events cos they were scared I’d win them, now I’m the 2nd biggest streamer of their game and they’re scared I’ll overtake their golden boy”.
But who is ‘their golden boy’ referred here? There starts the guessing game! Who the person might be?
But in the end EA tweeted, “We build games and communities for players to have fun [and] creating a safe experience for everyone without fear of harassment or abuse is a vital part of that…when feedback crosses the line to threatening, personal attacks, we will take action to move it out of our communities.” And that was the ultimate decision!
Before we come to any conclusion, we should really put this question to the front, “Did the game improve anyhow? Did EA do anything to make the game beautiful and realistic?”. Hope to get the answers in the long run!
