Call Of Duty is known to be an immensely popular and successful first-person shooter video game franchise that consists of numerous entries with settings that range from World War II to outer-space! However, this success was primarily limited to video games in consoles, such as the Xbox One and Playstation, and in PCs. This was the case, though, until the release of Call Of Duty: Mobile. After its release in October last year, Call of Duty Mobile carried the massive success of the series over to the mobile gaming community. Call Of Duty: Mobile introduced the traditional maps, modes, characters, and weapons that were seen in more popular titles like Call Of Duty: Black Ops IIII to a whole new community of gamers based on mobile devices.
Activision’s success with CoD Mobile is
not solely because they took exactly what was
present in their
flagship console games
and relocated it to a mobile format. They also provide
consistent and extensive support to the game, adding new game modes,
modifications, skins, and weapons almost weekly. CoD Mobile has
a Battle Royale
mode, a Zombies
mode, and a mode
that is dedicated to online matches that are similar to those in other CoD
games. Activision continually adds new tournaments and game modes
as well, such as the addition of the “Rust”
map in April.
Many of these
additions are made through
patches and the release of new seasons
in the game.
Season #6 is ongoing
after Activision released
a new patch earlier this month. Now, the
developers have finally
given us a clue as to what
the May roadmap
holds for Call Of Duty: Mobile.
The developers, in a recent community update on Reddit, released a broad roadmap for multiple events and game modes that will grace CoD Mobile over the course of this month. They have already released Capture The Gold and Kill Confirmed game modes, the new Rust map (which is coupled with exclusive events for the map), and a brand-new Battle Pass for the Wild West-themed season. Nonetheless, more content is headed towards the player base throughout the month.
One of the primary focuses is the Gold Rush events, which once again relate to the theme of the Battle Pass. Players will receive rewards for testing out the Kill Confirmed mode and entering battle royale matches. The prizes mainly consist of weapons that have recently been added to the game, such M4LMG–Moonstone, and the LK24–Flowing Bronze. Players can also win skins for their guns, such as the Flowing Bronze series of BR class camos.
New seasonal challenges, along with the
next SMG, “Cordite”, arrive on May 14. The Saloon multiplayer map, 1v1 Duel,
and Tactical Grenade Cryo Bomb are also coming in mid-May. Additionally,
another battle royale mode, Poltergeist Class, will follow in late May. The
developers also released a picture of a modified map for the current Battle
Royale mode, teasing further changes that we don’t know the full extent of yet.
It’s evident that Activision is far from done with Call Of Duty: Mobile, and
it’s needless to say that all CoD players are quite anxious to see how this new
season turns out!
