With Team of the Season coming to
an end in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team, many were expecting FUTTIES to be
the next promo event, but it appears a new event called Summer Heat!
With the Premier League returning on June
17, 2020, Wednesday, it looks like EA want to get in on the action with this
brand new promo.
Summer Heat is likely to be related to the
return of football after the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning a chance for new live
cards can start to arrive. Based on the clues that EA have been giving us,
we’re expecting to see the return of FUTMAS Ultimate Scream, Flashback and
Player Moments cards with boosted stats. Some of these cards have been missed
out by players earlier on in the year and now it is a great time to get another
crack at them, while shaking up the meta. We’re also likely to get a voting
aspect within the promo, similar to FUTTIES!
FIFAUTITA, a reliable source for leaks,
have confirmed how Summer Heat will work and confirmed that Ferland Mendy will
be added.
They have revealed that 93 rated Summer
Heat Ferland Mendy will be added for free via in-game objectives. A beast is
about to arrive! However, only time will tell what’s there in the bag!
Like nearly every Ultimate Team update, the
event should go live at 1pm ET / 6pm BST. This seems to have been confirmed by
EA in-game too, with the FUT loading screen now set to a countdown timer for
the Summer Heat event!
For now, it’s time for patience. Because EA
has been pretty quiet about the event itself, there may not be a chance to
invest in cards for the very end of the FIFA cycle, but one can prepare by
saving up a few packs regardless!
