The month has already witnessed a lot, especially the mobile gamers. The Indian government took a stern step towards banning PUBG mobile app. along with 118 different apps citing security reasons on September 2, 2020. But the true fact is it has profited many other FPS games available on smartphones or over Android stores!
The gamer base that PUBG has been conquering on smartphones in India is huge accounting to almost 175 million (reported by Sensor Tower) of downloads which is equivalent to 24% worldwide. That’s a real deal! However, a few mobile games have started to hit the mainstream since its ban. The games like Free Fire published by Garena Int. Pvt. Ltd., CoD Mobile by Activision etc. have been on the back seat for quite some time now being overshadowed by the presence of PUBG mobile.
But now their developers are witnessing a drastic change in the mobile gaming market. Soon after the declaration by the Indian government, Free Fire and CoD mobile have started to experience a heavy ascent on its average download percentage. The other game Ludo King has also been hugely profited by this decision as it has added to its increasing popularity by boosting its installation ratio.
According to Sensor Tower report, these three mobile titles have been the pioneers in grabbing the occasion after PUBG’s exit from the Indian market. Free Fire has reportedly amassed a download of more than 2 million, CoD mobile 1.1 million and Ludo King with a figure of 1.5 million are on their track to dominate the Indian mobile gaming arena.
However, the PUBG developers are in constant touch with the Indian government to get their game running again. They have already severed ties with the Chinese giants, Tencent for the Indian region respecting the decision taken by the Indian government. In a blog post, its developers have duly expressed their concern towards the safety of a player’s data and its proper encryption.
