IESF

IESF has announced its titles for Esports World Championship 2020 to be held at Eilat, Israel. The popular titles like PES, Tekken 7 and Dota 2 have been included this year for this grand event to be held at the last quarter this year. This will be their 12th edition!

The selection of the titles have been done very shrewdly as it’s a combo of a sports, fighting and multiplayer online battle genres. It hasn’t been declared yet whether more titles will be included later on.

The event will be taking place from November 15 till November 20, 2020 (tentative). However it is a matter of speculation if the dates need any shifting due to ongoing pandemic circumstances.

Colin Webster, President at IESF, remarked that it’s a huge achievement on the part of IESF to bring together the Champions of PES, Tekken 7 and Dota 2 on the same platform to inspire many throughout the world in spite of the recent upheaval due to pandemic . He proudly declared that the event is going to be the best managed event in the history of esports.

Why IESF selected these titles?

The reasons are very well justified as the titles carry their own legacy in its genre.

PES by Konami is the fiercest rival of FIFA by EA, however the whole gaming community is divided into two halves on which is a better simulation of real life football. Tekken 7 can be regarded as a standout fighting game by Bandai Namco Entertainment ruling the charts since 2015. On the other hand, Dota 2 by Valve has been the pioneer in MOBA for years now!

The previous edition of the event took place in Seoul, South Korea where the winners were Korean esports athlete Jay Min ‘Knee’ Bae (Tekken 7), Sweden (Dota 2) and Iran (PES) respectively. Japan received the award for the ‘Best Team’ in that edition grabbing the second place both in Tekken 7 and PES.

The champions are expecting to perform even better this time having got ample time to sharpen their skills staying at the comfort zone of their places due to lockdown days!
