Skyesports Championship 2.0: The quest for INR 11, 00, 000 begins August 27!

Esports is already a burgeoning industry in India and with all social interactions shifting online in the pandemic, there’s been a significant upliftment in adoption and traction. 

Skyesports is right on the track to pave the way for the esports athletes in the country! It is part of Skytou Studios, a game development organisation who specialise in hyper-casual mobile games, developing and publishing since 2015. Currently, they are exploring into esports domain creating better esports environment for the esports athletes in Chennai and South India. Skyesports has previously conducted various tournaments for mobile gaming titles like Skyesports Invitational Scrims and Skyesports Elite Club Scrims for PUBG Mobile and the recently concluded Brawl Stars Championship 2020.

INR 11, 00, 000! This time it’s going to span over a bit longer across 6 titles. Considering the current situation, tournament organisers are moving to online events to facilitate competitive play and add to online viewership numbers as well.

Skyesports Championship 2.0 will primarily focus on the most popular esports titles in India. Riot’s new FPS Valorant will be one of the titles along with PUBG Mobile, Brawlstars, Clash of Clans, Rainbow Six Siege and a new entrant, World Cricket Championship Rivals. Cricket’s popularity in India must have culminated this inclusion!

The games will be cast in 6 languages including English, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. The tournament will be streamed on LOCO and the Skyesports YouTube channel. And the brawl begins August 27, 2020!

The prize pool has been decided very shrewdly that includes INR 2, 00, 000 vouchers for the viewers as well. An engaging policy that should do wonders to the event! The prize pool will be divided like:

PUBG – INR 6,00,000

CoC – INR 1,00,000

Brawl Stars – INR 1,00,000

Valorant – INR 1,00,000

Rainbow Six Siege – INR 50,000

Cricket Championship Rivals – INR 50,000

Valorant Celebratory Showdown– INR 1,00,000

According to the organisers, “We are trying to create an Exceptional & Sustainable Esports eco-System in South India by raising levels of Professionalism among South Indian gamers.” But its scale should know no limit the way it’s being implemented with a profound professional approach!
