Xbox Games’ Showcase: Halo Infinite, Fable, Forza Motorsport and more!

Xbox F

The long-awaited Xbox Games Showcase is done and much like its PlayStation 5 equivalent it was a mixture of excitement, disappointment, and highly predictable surprises!

That last point isn’t really Microsoft’s fault;  video game secrets are almost impossible to hide nowadays, but it’s not hard to be upset by how little of the new Fable was shown and how few genuinely new games there were!

Fable is an open world action role-playing game by the makers of Forza Horizon certainly has the potential to be great, but there’s no way to tell one way or the other from the brief pre-rendered teaser.

The hour-long (solely games-focused) showcase gave us our first look Halo Infinite gameplay, as well as the official announcement of new Fable and a new fantasy RPG from Obsidian, called Avowed alongside games like Everwild, Grounded, Stalker 2, Forza Motorsport, Destiny 2 etc.

On first appearance Halo Infinite looks like a Halo game, boasting stunning visuals, a classic Halo assault rifle, plenty of grunts, Elites and Brutes to mow down! Key difference is a more fleshed-out map that shows upgrades and various things to collect and missions scattered throughout the area.

Avowed is a new Obsidian RPG coming to Xbox Series X and PC. It’s an epic first-person RPG set in the fantasy world of Aurora, and ‘built from the ground up to take advantage of the power of Xbox Series X’.

Overall a mixed kind of reaction is evolving from the gamers who love different genres of titles, but July 23, 2020 is of great significance to the gamers as Sony also revealed the trailer of their much expectant Fifa 21!
