Call of Duty 2020 news delayed again

Call of Duty 2020

COD fans were left disappointed after the rumoured new Black Ops game was absent from the PS5 showcase. The current rumours suggest that Call of Duty 2020 will take the form of a new game in the Black Ops series. If recent leaks are anything to go by, the upcoming game could be called Call of Duty Cold War.

It seems two major industry insiders have revealed why exactly Call of Duty took a back seat during PlayStation’s showcase, with the general consensus being that the game isn’t looking to debut any time soon. The reports themselves come from both Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier and Eurogamer’s Tom Phillips, with both of the popular journalists stating on Twitter that the game’s announcement is still a ways off.

On the plus side, Activision has previously said the game is on track to launch this autumn, fingers crossed if this remains the case, so there’s a good chance the next game will be unveiled during the next-gen event.

This year, the original Black Ops game completed 10 years. Treyarch put out a video remembering the same on May 18, 2020. Instead of taking it as a simple celebratory video, fans obviously went around looking for clues regarding the next title. The suspicions and leaks look more legitimate now that Treyarch has posted two more videos in the last few days. The videos talk about how it is to work in engineering and the Art and Animation department at Treyarch.

Needless to say, the delayed reveal has led to speculation that the new game will be pushed back to a considerable delay!
