The game is a prayer in our country which is loved by everyone from
8 to 80, people from all age groups start and end a day discussing about the
game!
It is a uniting factor in our country irrespective of cast, creed
and religion! But the esports lovers are yet to get any title that might fill
their hearts’ content. Why till date there isn’t even a single cricket title
that can be a near about reflection of real time cricket; the reasons are
unknown!
Though there is Cricket 19 developed by Big Ant Studios in
collaboration with Maximum Games is the official video game of the 2019 Ashes
series of cricket matches (sequel to the 2017 game Ashes Cricket), but it can’t
be enough right? ‘IPL’ the most popular and glamorous proposition in the world
cricket, people want to enjoy that thrill, that excitement, that pinch sitting
on their couch. Thats missing!
Then the licensing matter. Cricket 19 has a new game mode called
scenario mode that allows players to begin a match in any predetermined
situation. The game also allows users to play through the men’s ODI, T20 and
test world cups, and women’s ODI and T20 world cups.
But ICC sponsorships? Not there, taking it far away from reality and
less interesting. Though Cricket 19 received critical praise for improved
presentation, features and accurately representing the game of cricket, with
IGN giving it 8/10. However, it did receive some negative comments for
glitches, and for being too similar to the previous Big Ant cricket
game, Ashes Cricket.
Lets not forget about the varied aspects of the game that is also a
hindrance towards its making in a complete and a popular title in consoles. Yes
its so many aspects! Like we know that to be close to reality the developers
need to induce each and every component into it. For example, Fifa 20 is a
close resemblance of real life football but bugs and glitches are there which
is bound to be.
But the things like switch hits, (U)DRS, scoop shots, upper cuts,
the famous helicopter shot, the yorkers, the reverse swing, googlies, the wrong
ones, the chinaman….ohhhh! The entities are too many to compile into a
virtual title and to design the right combination of keys to perform these acts
is an uphill task.
The Indian gaming market is increasing by the day; esports becoming
more and more feasible for the gamers, somehow the developers might plot
something to take hold of the growing phenomenon!
