Fortnite Postpones Release Of Chapter #2, Season #3

In recent times, Fortnite has constantly been bombarding players with cancellations and postponements. The 2020 World Cup was cancelled due to
COVID-19 concerns, online smaller-scale competitions have been pushed back by a few months, and certain updates that were supposed to be released last month didn’t come out. In fact, as per Epic Games, many players were experiencing substantial issues with the game, and there were numerous reports that the game itself was down in certain regions. All of this was bad enough, but we persevered. Yet now, Epic Games has announced that the long-awaited Fortnite Chapter #2, Season #3 will not be delivered to players for another month!
The company didn’t spell out the reason for the delay, though it might be because Fortnite’s North Carolina employees have been working from home due to COVID-19. The new season was supposed to come out at the end of April, but will instead arrive in the game on June 4th. A typical season lasts approximately 10 weeks, but Chapter #2, Season #2 has already exceeded the time limit by a few weeks! This is all reminiscent of the dreaded Chapter #2, Season #1, also known as “The Season That Never Ends”, which stuck around for a whopping 18 weeks. While these delays may come as a disappointment to fans that were excited to see what changes Epic had in-store for the upcoming season, the developer says that Fortnite will have plenty of content to keep players busy. In the blog post where it announced the delay, Epic mentions multiple game updates that will include new challenges, bonus XP, “fresh gameplay,” and “surprises.” For now, it’s unclear what those things might be, but in the past Epic has offered things like Overtime Challenges after delayed seasons, which sometimes gave players next season’s battle pass for free if they complete the challenges.
It’s still too early at this point to suggest what the theme and future direction will be for the game. Fortunately, Epic has released some information about Season #3 that we can ponder over until it releases. If you want to pick up the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 Battle Pass to unlock all of the additional rewards it provides, you’ll need to spend 950 V-Bucks. The smallest bundle of V-Bucks is 1,000 and costs $9.99/£7.99, which is all you need to unlock the Battle Pass. You can also give the Battle Pass to a friend for $9.49/£7.49, so if you really don’t want to use V-Bucks (or just want to give someone a helping hand) then you can work this out with a buddy instead. We’re currently not sure where Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 will go in regards to the contents of the Battle Pass, but we’ll be keeping a close eye on everything that goes on during the current season for clues. The gaming community wasn’t expecting a big change to happen for Season 2 after the huge transition of the game to Chapter 2, but with the introduction of new locations, the secret agent theme, and AI enemies, the developers of Fortnite have shown us that anything can happen! We will continue to scour the Internet for information and will provide constant updates, so remember to keep an eye on this page!
