7.22e introduces Pseudo Random miss chances

Valve has released a new patch for Dota 2. Version 7.22e comes with lots of minor changes to the balance and introduces Pseudo Random Distribution of miss probabilities in low ground and debuff scenarios.

Around one month before The International 2019, Valve further tweaks the numbers of the game. In general, there are no drastic changes apart from slight buffs and nerfs here and there. The most impactful change affects a mechanic of the game itself though.

Here are the full patch notes.

General

  • Low ground miss and miss debuff chance is now Pseudo-Random

This change might be the biggest one of the new patch. Pseudo Random chances are more consistent than actual random chances. Right after a missed hit, for example, the chance to miss again directly after that is lower. Accordingly, the chance to miss is higher the longer you haven’t missed. By increasing the consistency of chance-based events, the luck factor gets reduced while maintaining the overall probability. A detailed explanation of Pseudo Random Distribution can be found here

Items

Maelstrom:

  • Chain Lightning damage reduced from 160 to 150

Stout Shield:

  • No longer stacks (only one chance attempt)

Heroes

Abaddon:

  • Curse of Avernus initial debuff increased from 4 to 5 seconds

Ancient Apparition:

  • Movement Speed reduced from 290 to 285
  • Level 25 Talent reduced from 700 AoE Cold Feet to 625

Beastmaster:

  • Level 15 Talent reduced from +40 Boar Damage to +35

Bloodseeker:

  • Blood Rite cooldown reduced from 18/16/14/12 to 12

Bounty Hunter:

  • Base damage increased by 3

Centaur Warrunner:

  • Hoof Stomp cooldown increased from 13 to 22/19/16/13

Chen:

  • Base damage reduced by 4

Dark Seer:

  • Ion Shell damage reduced from 30/50/70/90 to 24/46/68/90

Death Prophet:

  • Exorcism scepter damage from 2x to 1.75x

Drow Ranger:

  • Level 15 Talent changed from +550 Gust Distance/Knockback to +30% Gust Miss Chance
  • Level 15 Talent changed from +10 Agility to +14

Ember Spirit:

  • Sleight of Fist can no longer be used while rooted

Enigma:

  • Midnight Pulse damage reduced from 3.75/4.25/4.75/5.25% to 3.5/4/4.5/5%

Grimstroke:

  • Base damage reduced by 2
  • Soulbind no longer reduces movement speed by 10%

Io:

  • Tether heal/restore transfer reduced from 90/110/130/150% to 60/90/120/150%

Juggernaut:

  • Bladefury damage reduced from 90/115/140/160 to 85/110/135/160

Lich:

  • Base intelligence increased by 2
  • Sinister Gaze cooldown reduced from 30/27/24/21 to 24/22/20/18

Luna:

  • Level 20 Talent increased from +8 All Stats to +10
  • Level 20 Talent increased from +100 Lucent Beam Damage to +125
  • Level 25 Talent increased from +30% Lifesteal to +35%

Lycan:

  • Base intelligence increased by 2
  • Base strength increased by 1
  • Shapeshift critical strike chance is now Pseudo-Random
  • Level 15 Talent increased from +10 Feral HP Regen to +13
  • Level 20 Talent increased from +16% Feral Impulse Damage to +18%

Mirana:

  • Base intelligence increased by 3
  • Sacred Arrow cooldown from 17 to 18/17/16/15
  • Sacred Arrow base damage increased from 50/140/230/320 to 80/160/240/320

Morphling:

  • Base armor reduced by 1
  • Morph scepter no longer reduces cooldowns by 35%
  • Morph scepter now allows ally targeting
  • Level 20 Talent changed from Morph Targets Allies to +15% Cooldown Reduction

Necrophos:

  • Heartstopper Aura max health lost per second increased from 0.5/1.1/1.7/2.3% to 0.6/1.2/1.8/2.4%

Ogre Magi:

  • Intelligence gain increased from 2.3 to 2.5
  • Agility gain increased from 1.6 to 1.9
  • Level 20 Talent increased from +40 Bloodlust Attack Speed to +60

Omniknight:

  • Guardian Angel duration reduced from 6/7/8 to 5/6.5/8
  • Heavenly Grace cooldown increased from 17/16/15/14 to 26/22/18/14

Oracle:

  • Movement Speed reduced from 300 to 295

Outworld Devourer:

  • Sanity’s Eclipse mana drain reduced from 40% to 30%
  • Level 15 Talent changed from +25 Movement Speed to +350 Mana

Phantom Assassin:

  • Fixed Stifling Dagger slow lasting for 1/2/3/4 seconds instead of 1.75/2.5/3.25/4 seconds

Phantom Lancer:

  • Spirit Lance mana cost reduced from 125/130/135/140 to 110/120/130/140
  • Level 15 Talent increased from +250 Health to +275

Shadow Demon:

  • Soul Catcher mana cost increased from 50/70/90/110 to 80/100/120/140

Skywrath Mage:

  • Attack range increased from 600 to 625

Slardar:

  • Corrosive Haze cast point reduced from 0.35 to 0.3
  • Corrosive Haze cast range increased from 700 to 700/800/900

Spirit Breaker:

  • Charge of Darkness cooldown increased from 11 to 17/15/13/11

Sven:

  • Base strength reduced by 1
  • God’s Strength cooldown increased from 100 to 110

Underlord:

  • Pit of Malice mana cost reduced from 100/115/130/145 to 80/100/120/140
  • Pit of Malice cooldown reduced from 30/26/22/18 to 24/22/20/18

Vengeful Spirit:

  • Base intelligence increased by 2

Viper:

  • Base damage increased by 2
  • Level 10 Talent increased from +20 Attack Speed to +25
  • Level 15 Talent increased from +100 Attack Range to +125

Visage:

  • Grave Chill duration from 3/4/5/6 to 6
  • Grave Chill movement speed change from 32% to 17/23/29/35%
  • Grave Chill attack speed change from 64 to 34/46/58/70

Weaver:

  • Strength gain increased from 1.8 to 2.0

Wraith King:

  • Skeleton health reduced from 250 to 175
  • Level 15 Talent reduced from +35 Skeletons Attack Damage to +30

Zeus:

  • Thundergod’s Wrath damage increased from 225/325/425 to 250/350/450
  • Thundergod’s Wrath mana cost increased from 225/325/450 to 250/350/450
